Litigation Paralegal
Williams Mullen is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and team-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with 5-7 years of experience managing complex litigation matters to play a significant role in supporting attorneys through all phases of the litigation process.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling sophisticated litigation cases, exceptional organizational abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role requires proficiency in document drafting, extensive knowledge of both State and Federal Court procedures, and experience with electronic filings. Trial preparation experience is essential, as this position will provide critical support to attorneys in advancing client matters from inception through trial.
The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who demonstrates leadership, professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate.
- Knowledge of both State and Federal Court procedures, and electronic filings.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise initiative in problem-solving and the ability to make sound decisions in absence of clear instructions.
- Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required to handle large volumes of work associated with each case and transaction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills
- 5+ years’ experience in a law firm or similar professional environment.
- Commercial litigation experience.
- Knowledge of Interwoven/FileSite or comparable document sharing software.
- Trial preparation skills and experience.
- Knowledge of Elite or similar time-keeping software.
- Working knowledge of e-discovery products and procedures.
- Ability to read and understand legal terminology.
