Job Summary
The Real Estate Paralegal (based out of our Buffalo, NY office) will support attorneys with the real estate transaction process for a successful closing by performing a variety of tasks including legal research, document preparation, case management, and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of legal procedures and terminology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze, review, and summarize commercial real estate documents.
- Assist with closing commercial real estate transactions and case preparation by gathering information, preparing discovery documents, and drafting legal pleadings.
- Draft and review legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and responses.
- Ensure all documents comply with legal procedures and requirements.
- Assist in managing case files, including organizing case materials, maintaining client records, and tracking deadlines.
- Prepare and file court documents and correspondence.
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates on case progress, and schedule meetings. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all client interactions.
- Prepare and file documents with courts and other government agencies. Ensure all filings are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and procedures to ensure compliance in all tasks and responsibilities.
- Additional responsibilities specific to your assigned practice group may be required.
- Uphold the firm’s reputation as the premier source for sophisticated legal counsel by delivering superior outcomes, service, and value to every client and matter.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Qualifications and Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Relevant Paralegal certification (i.e. ACEBS) is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal or in a legal support role.
- Work experience as a practicing paralegal in relevant practice area is preferred.
