Compensation: $64,438 to $83,774 Annually

You will serve as a PARALEGAL in the STAFF JUDGE ADVOCATE OFFICE of COMMANDER NAVY REGION HAWAII.

A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.64% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
Have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree.
OR
Have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
OR
Have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of education plus percentage of experience must equal 100%.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1) Managing a law office to include the ability to organize a law office filing system and daily office document processing; 2) Using a computer and associated software (to include the full Microsoft Office suite), electronic typewriter, multifunction device, and related equipment (ex. printers, scanners, etc.); 3) Preparing reports, drafting legal documentation and correspondence, and communicating in writing with others in a professional and logical manner; 4) Using communication skills necessary to communicate and explain findings and recommendations to assigned attorneys; 5) Performing appropriate legal research and applying law and procedures sufficiently to examine case files and assist in case preparation, while ensuring information is lawfully released or withheld; 6) Analyzing reports, testimonies, and/or interviews to compile legal files and legal findings; 7) Using knowledge of legal concepts, principles, terminology, the Uniform Code of Military Justice, applicable DoW and DON directives and policies (to include those pertaining to discipline and administrative separation), Federal statutes, regulations, and manuals, and legal research methods to resolve legal issues by utilizing knowledge of litigation activities of the agency.
