Metropolitan Companies is currently seeking a full time Paralegal to join our legal team. Metropolitan has an active practice in commercial and residential real estate, zoning and entitlements, corporate governance, and construction. The ideal candidate will have general knowledge of real estate, corporate entity formation, previous work experience in real estate transactions, land development and/or construction is a plus.
The position requires direct interaction with governing agencies, local municipal officials and other professionals and as such, candidates must be highly organized, have excellent written and verbal communication, motivated self-starters who can prioritize and balance competing demands, possess good computer skills, and be willing to work together with various departments.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist Management and Legal Department with drafting and amending real estate documents including, but not limited to, letters of intent, agreements of sale, leases and lot purchase agreements, easements, vendor (public and private) contracts and municipal applications and agreements.
- Gather, prepare, and track documents for financing of projects together with required municipal escrows.
- Assist with managing numerous corporate entities including but not limited to, preparing and filing (electronic and paper) of initial articles of incorporation, certificates of amendment, articles of dissolution, drafting initial partnership/operating agreements for review, amendments, resolutions, consents and minutes.
- General administrative functions such as maintaining calendars, organization, letter writing filing, etc., for various projects using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Requirements:
- HS Diploma or GED required
- 3 years’ legal experience or Paralegal Certificate
Preferred:
- Paralegal certificate preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
