Jones Jones LLC is a leading workers' compensation defense law firm seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Settlements Department. In this role, you will provide administrative support to the team while delivering exceptional service to our clients.

This is a hybrid position, requiring two days per week in the office. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment. A strong commitment to accuracy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Assign attorneys cases for settlement recommendations/follow up on response
  • Update clients on settlements status
  • Communication with plaintiff’s counsel on settlement interests/demands
  • Communication with third party counsels for global settlements
  • Assist attorneys on documents drafts and updates
  • Submit and monitor agreements for Workers Compensation Board’s Approval
  • Review of public folder to delegate assignments
  • Quarterly Carrier’s Projects/claims reviews
  • Knowledge of MSA/CMS procedures (preferred but not required)
  • Review claims and evaluate what is needed to move towards closure


Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required
  • Paralegal certificate a plus
  • Some related experience preferred but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe or related software.
