Driven by our continued growth and commitment to excellence, we are currently seeking a Legal Assistant for our Plano, Texas team.
Job Responsibilities vary by department, but may include:
- Review files to determine status and appropriate next steps. Follow up with internal and external parties to resolve
- Follow up to ensure files move through litigation and post judgment process efficiently
- Obtain legal documents from court websites
- Import documents into the Firm’s case management system
- File legal documents with the court
- Assist with docket management
- Prepare, review, and assemble trial packages
- Generate and prepare legal documents for Attorney review
- Generate and track judgment documents
- Communicate with enforcement officers, courts, banks, process servers, attorneys, and consumers
- Record information in the Firm’s case management system
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- At least two-years general office experience with at least one-year legal office experience or equivalent education
- Knowledge of legal principles and legal terminology.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Ability to work with databases and on-line technological platforms
- Ability to be self-reliant and able to initiate communication with management
- Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Ability to be detail-oriented, diligent, and flexible
- Ability to handle conflicting time demands and focus on task completion with little direction or need for supervisory follow-up
- Proficient command of the English language in both oral and written format
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional manner
- Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, fax machine, printer, scanner, and computer.
