As the Paralegal, you will assist the In House Counsel by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review, contract redlining, interviewing clients and witnesses, legal research, investigations, fact checking, and trial preparation.

Duties & Responsibilities:
In this role you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following job duties:
1. Legal Support & Collaboration
-
Partner with In House Counsel, dealership leaders, and department heads to address legal issues related to daily operations, vendor agreements, customer disputes, and compliance matters across state lines.

Facilitate communication between In House Counsel and business units to ensure smooth and timely legal reviews.
2. Document Preparation & Review
-
Initial draft and review a variety of legal documents, including:
-
Vendor contracts and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)
-
Lease agreements and amendments for retail and service locations
-
Routine litigation pleadings and responses
-
Ensure all legal documents are consistent with corporate policies and meet applicable legal standards in each state of operation.

3. Legal Research & Regulatory Monitoring
-
Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, case law, and agency guidance affecting dealership operations, licensing, advertising, consumer protection, and employment issues.

Monitor regulatory updates (e.g., FTC regulations, DMV/Dealer Board requirements) and provide summaries to the legal team.
4. Compliance & Licensing Support

Assist with tracking dealership licenses, business registrations, and renewals in multiple jurisdictions.

Support internal compliance efforts, including documentation and training related to data privacy, advertising, sales practices, and state-specific dealership laws.
5. Litigation & Claims Support
-
Support the legal team in managing litigation, claims, and customer complaints by organizing case files, collecting documentation, preparing summaries, and coordinating with outside counsel.

Assist in responding to subpoenas, demand letters, and pre-litigation inquiries.
6. Corporate Recordkeeping
-
Maintain organized and up-to-date records of corporate entities, contracts, licenses, and legal filings.

Support legal aspects of acquisitions, entity formations, and other corporate transactions.
7. Operational & Compliance Integration
-
Translate legal findings into actionable guidance for dealership staff.

Assist with compliance training materials or SOPs when legal issues intersect with business processes.
8. General Administrative Legal Support

Organize and manage legal files, both digital and physical.

Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by attorneys or executive leadership.

Education & Experience:
-
Strongly prefer Associate degree or higher in law or Paralegal Studies or related field.

Paralegal certificate required.
-
Related experience as a paralegal in a corporate setting preferred.
Requirements:

Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Ability to pass a background check
