Position Summary:
MIRACORP is seeking a Civil Investigator to support our federal customer at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas (USAO/WDTX), in the San Antonio, Texas branch office, with expected travel to the Del Rio, Big Bend, and El Paso Sectors of Customs and Border Patrol. The individual should also be able to perform as an English-Spanish interpreter/translator. The contractor shall provide this person to perform the duties outlined below with the skills necessary to successfully meet the Government’s requirements.
Responsibilities:
The Civil Investigator will perform the following tasks as defined below.
• Provides professional investigations to clarify/verify facts
• Review correspondence and guidance for the Border Wall Project.
• Be able to understand the rights of entry for federal condemnation matters.
• Effectively communicate with landowners both verbally and in written format
• Prepare individual Border Wall Project files.
• Prepare correspondence for assigned Border Wall Project actions.
• Make assessments and provide written reports/analysis of information.
• Perform any task pertaining to the Border Wall Project program.
• Serves as an English/Spanish interpreter/translator.
• Travels in support of investigation.
• Must be proficient in the use of technology, including word processing applications, online public record databases, GPS, probate records, land records, etc.
• Must be able to assist in locating potential landowners and their heirs.

The Civil Investigator shall provide qualified personnel who have the following:
• 15+ years law enforcement experience (preferred but not mandatory)
• Experience in condemnation matters (preferred)
• Foreign language skills are required (English-Spanish)
• Experience with working on complex investigations (preferred but not mandatory)
• Significant experience in testifying in court (preferred but not mandatory)
• Must have above average written and oral communication skills
Training and experience in federal law enforcement and/or federal investigation fields can be substituted with formal education.
