OBJECTIVE

The Legal Specialist role manages active litigation and post-judgment files to resolution while serving as the primary liaison between counsel, clients, and internal stakeholders. In this role, you’ll manage contested accounts, monitor court deadlines, review legal filings, and coordinate post-judgment actions like garnishments and liens—all while delivering clear, timely updates to clients. You’ll spot risks early, solve problems proactively, and keep documentation airtight.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

  • Manage accounts from the time suit is filed through judgment, settlement, dismissal, or closure.
  • Serve as primary point of contact with outside counsel for litigation status, pleadings, and strategy.
  • Handle all contested accounts, including documentation review, dispute response coordination, and escalation as required.
  • Review attorney reports and filings for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Provide detailed litigation status updates to clients.
  • Coordinate post-judgment activity including garnishments, executions, liens, and renewals where applicable.
  • Monitor compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
  • Identify issues, risks, or delays and escalate appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed CLS documentation of all litigation and post-judgment actions.

SECONDARY JOB DUTIES

  • Proactively recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow for the Legal Collections team and services performed
  • Support new hires and other co-workers by assisting with training or other questions
  • Respond to written correspondence from customers, and clients in clear, concise, and professional language by keeping language accurate, legible, complete, and by using a positive tone
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and propose ideas
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration between countries and cultures within all regions
  • Assist in Legal project work as required
  • Act as backup to other members of the Legal Department
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality with all information entrusted with

WORK HOURS

It is essential that this position adhere to the assigned work schedule. This is a full-time position working from 9am- 5Pm EST and is subject to change with advanced notice. Schedules and hours required may also vary by region, department, client, and/or team. Schedules will be assigned on an individual basis by the manager/supervisor of the position.
