POSITION OVERVIEW

As a member of BakerRipley's Internship program, you will join an incredibly talented and hardworking department dedicated to advance BakerRipley's impact in the Houston region.

The Unpaid Immigration Administrative Intern provides essential substantive administrative support to our legal team. This role is designed exclusively for undergraduate students seeking practical, hands-on experience in immigration and nationality law. The intern will assist with a diverse caseload—including naturalization, humanitarian, and family-based immigration matters—under the direct supervision of licensed attorneys.

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Document Drafting & Case Preparation and provide administration support as needed.
  • Prepare support letters, client affidavits, and index of evidence summaries.
  • Assist in completing USCIS forms (e.g., I-130, I-485, I-589, I-765), client communication and intake.
  • Gather supporting vital records, medical documents, and country conditions reports.
  • Provide regular, professional case status updates to clients.
  • Maintain and organize physical and electronic client case files.
  • Monitor case deadlines, USCIS receipt notices, and court hearing schedules.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Associate's Degree or Pursuit of Bachelor's Degree
COMPUTER/ SYSTEMS/ SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY: Microsoft Word, Outlook, OneDrive/Sharepoint,
Teams, Adobe, and Excel proficiency required.
LANGUAGE REQUIRED (Other than English): Spanish preferred, but not required
