Paralegal - Memphis, TN
The Memphis office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell and Berkowitz, P.C. has an immediate opening for a paralegal to join its commercial restructuring and bankruptcy practice. All candidates must have either a bachelor’s degree and/or a paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program. The candidate should have at least 2–3 years of experience in commercial restructuring, bankruptcy matters, and the foreclosure process. Additional preferred qualifications include litigation experience, particularly drafting and filing pleadings in both state and federal courts. Basic knowledge of real estate and title issues is a plus.
The position involves use of both state and federal court filing systems and the ability to determine procedures used therein. Candidates must have the ability to search public records, to analyze and summarize information, and to prepare drafts of routine correspondence and pleadings independently for review by attorneys. The paralegal must be able to handle multiple projects at the same time. We seek a bright, hardworking paralegal who possesses strong organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
